About the Midwife
Holly began her journey to midwifery with the news that she was expecting the first of her seven children. She was fascinated with the miracle of developing life and became a student through the eyes of a parent. As her children and family grew, she trained to be a birth doula through DONA International and supported many families largely in the hospital setting. After witnessing her first birth in the home, she immediately began her formal training to become a midwife and serve families with comprehensive care in the comfort and intimacy of their own home.
Holly is a Certified Professional Midwife who received training in the art and science of homebirth midwifery at a school accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC). Holly is a licensed midwife in the state of Tennessee. She is accredited in CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation and is the primary maternity care provider for clients throughout pregnancy, during labor and birth, and for the first six weeks of the postpartum period. She is also trained in newborn care for up to six weeks of life. She graduated from Kent State University with a BA in Business, and an Associates Degree in Direct Entry Midwifery from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. During her midwifery preceptorship, Holly trained under the skillful guidance of several midwives in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Oregon.
